Verify your eligibility
You are NOT eligible to apply for Italian citizenship through a Consular Office, but you might obtain Italian citizenship by going through a legal proceeding in Italy.
Women saw their right to transmit their Italian citizenship recognized with the Italian Constitution on January 1, 1948. Applicants who were born from an Italian mother (or who are applying through an ancestor born from an Italian mother) before that date can attempt to obtain their Italian citizenship by filing a motion to appeal this rule.
