Please note that the Consulate of Italy in Detroit plans to appoint a new Honorary Consul in Louisville, Kentucky who will be assisting Italian citizens and this Consulate in promotion activities in its territory of competence.
We invite Italian citizens who are interested in this position to express their interest by February 28, 2026, by sending an email to segreteria.detroit@esteri.it with a concise résumé and a letter of interest. The email subject line should read “SELECTION PROCESS FOR A NEW HONORARY CONSUL OF ITALY IN LOUISVILLE”.
It is necessary that applicants have a good command of the Italian language, a space that is well-suited to the exercise of the functions, and reside in the territory of competence. We are looking for a dynamic profile who is interested in carrying out potential commercial and cultural promotion activities.
It is important to highlight that the position of Honorary Consul does NOT constitute or correspond to a working relationship with the Consulate of Italy in Detroit NOR with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Being a Honorary Consul is, however, a voluntary service for completing honorary tasks in favor of the represented Country and a high duty in favor of the Italian community.
