Songs from a Lost World of Italian Jewish Composers – Schaver Music Hall Wayne State University on Tuesday, Jan. 27th

The Department of Music of Wayne State University, with the enthusiastic support of the Italian Program and the Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic Studies, is proud to present a fascinating historical and musical event to commemorate the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.


WHEN:           Tuesday, January 27th, 2015 – 7:30-9:00 pm
WHERE:         Wayne State University Schaver Music Recital Hall
                    located in the Old Main Building, at 480 W. Hancock, between Cass and Second Ave, Detroit.
WHO:            Dr. Caroline Helton, soprano and Dr. Kathryn Goodson, piano
WHAT:          Songs from a Lost World of Italian Jewish Composers.  With the collaboration of musicologist Aloma Bardi, who is responsible for uncovering and collecting musical scores of art songs by masterful composers who were prominent in their time, soprano Helton and pianist Goodson are presenting tonight more discovered scores of Italian Jewish Composers, some of which from unpublished manuscripts. This event is free and open to the general public.
