Paolo Zanotto
Consul of Italy in Detroit

Paolo Zanotto was born on November 12, 1991, and completed his studies in Padua, where he earned a degree in Law in 2016. During his university studies, he spent one semester at the University of Greifswald in Germany. After completing a traineeship with the Judicial Offices of the Court of Appeal of Venice, he attended the preparatory course for the Italian Diplomatic Service at the Italian Society for International Organization.

Prior to entering the Diplomatic Service, he gained approximately two and a half years of professional experience at the University of Padua.

Upon joining the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in February 2024, his first assignment was to the Policy Planning and Analysis Unit, where he also served as Head of the Ministry’s Historical Diplomatic Archives. In the same year, he spent one month to the Embassy of Italy in Vilnius, Lithuania.

On January 7, 2026, he assumed his duties as Consul of Italy in Detroit, with jurisdiction over the States of Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee.

In addition to Italian and English, he speaks German and Portuguese.
